Why a private car beats the taxi queue
Madrid Barajas is one of the busiest airports in Europe, with long distances between terminals and the arrivals halls. After a long flight, the last thing you want is a queue at the rank or a metro change with your luggage.
With a private Madrid Airport transfer, your chauffeur is waiting in arrivals with your name on a sign, takes your bags and drives you straight to your hotel, home or office. For two or more travellers the price is often close to the cost of two taxis.
- Meeting point at your own terminal
- No change with luggage at a station
- One price for the whole car, not per person

Getting from Madrid Airport to the city
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (IATA code MAD) is about 13 kilometres north-east of the city centre, close to the M-40 and the A-2 motorways. It has four terminals: T1, T2 and T3 are side by side, while T4 and its satellite T4S are a short drive away and are used by Iberia and many long-haul flights. Your chauffeur needs your flight number to meet you at the right one. A reliable Madrid Airport transfer is the first thing many visitors arrange.
Travel time and best departure time
Outside rush hour, the drive from Barajas to central Madrid takes about 25 minutes via the M-11 and the M-30. On weekday mornings and late afternoons, or when there are roadworks, allow up to 50 minutes. For departures from MAD we suggest leaving central Madrid about 3 hours before an international flight.
Private transfer, metro or taxi?
Metro line 8, the airport Exprés bus and the Cercanías train connect the airport with the city and are good value for a single traveller with light luggage. You still need to get from the stop to your final address, and services are least convenient very early or very late. A taxi uses a flat fare from the airport to the centre and a rank. A pre-booked private car gives you a fixed price, a named chauffeur and a vehicle sized to your luggage.
Beyond Madrid
Many guests continue straight to Toledo, Segovia, Ávila, El Escorial or Valencia. We drive anywhere in Spain at a fixed price: enter the address in the booking form for an instant quote.
Groups, families and business travellers
Our Mercedes V-Class carries up to seven passengers with luggage, which often makes a private transfer the most economical choice for groups. Companies can book a corporate chauffeur service with invoicing for guests arriving at MAD.
